About your teacher:
Hello! My name is Melissa Jordan and I am beginning my first year as a teacher at New Manchester High School. I taught for seven years at Douglas County High School before I transferred to NMHS. I have lived in Douglasville since I was 2 years old, and I am a graduate of Alexander High School. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years, who works at Douglas County High School, and we have a son, Johnathan, who is 5 years old. I attended the University of West Georgia, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in History and a Bachelors Degree in French, both in 2006. After college, I realized that I was tasked to serve the young people in my community and, with a little research, learned that our county had a shortage of math teachers. I went back to West Georgia, where I earned my teaching certificate and certified to teach both math and history. I have spent most of my career in the math department, but I have had the opportunity to teach history here and there as well. I love everything about New Manchester High School and I am looking forward to a great year. If there is anything that I can do to make your experience at NMHS an even better one, please do no hesitate to let me know. My door is always open.
